Information Technology

The CHS Information Technology ("IT") Department serves the computing needs of all of our CHS Facilities. The IT Department offers services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year. The technological infrastructure of CHS is very complex, and comprised of many specialized but interdependent components. Our systems reach all parts of our organization, across the many miles of Nassau and Suffolk County and even beyond! Behind the scenes is a team of approximately 135 individuals making sure that all systems are running as needed.

The IT Team as a whole actually operates as 26 smaller team units. These team units specialize in the different areas of IT specialty: patient systems, financial systems, continuing care systems, system security, network services, telecommunications services, desktop PC supports services, support of our servers and data centers, client services, systems integration services and of course our CHS IT Help Desk.

At any point in time, the IT Department is working on between 55-60 active projects for new IT services. These projects can involve the set up of hardware or a large and complicated project which involves hundreds, or even thousands, of users. In addition, there are over 110 other projects that are in various stages of planning or discussion.

The IT Department's role is to serve our customers. With over 16,000 employees in the Catholic Health Services of Long Island network all over Long Island we are happy to offer our support and services to many! We are centralized in Melville, but do additionally have a desktop support team located in all our acute care facilities for on the spot support to all buildings located in the particular geographical areas. Important to the IT Department is the level of service, dedication and professionalism to our customers!
